Academic Assistance
Student-Athletes should see an SASC Academic Advisor for help with:
· Academic advice for choosing majors
· Class selection, course load, registration, and degree progress
· Questions concerning Study Table, tutorial assistance and computer lab access
· Information on tutoring services, study skill deficits, career uncertainties and personal concerns
Guided Studies Area
The Guided Studies Area is a large three (3) room computer lab and group tutor room area in the basement of Turner Hall that offers academic support to all of our student-athletes. It is a place for student-athletes to meet with Athletic Academic Advisors, Student Mentors and also is a place to study quietly and work with subject area tutors obtained through the Content Area Tutoring program.
Tutorial Services
The Student-Athlete Support Center tutorial program works in conjunction with the ASISU Content Area Tutoring. The program is not intended to take place of attending class, taking good notes, reviewing and preparing properly for quizzes and exams or actively participating in class discussions. The tutorial program is intended to supplement all of the above factors and to allow the student-athletes the opportunity to receive tutorial assistance in any subject area that may be presenting a problem.
Travel Laptop Program
While away from campus for competition, student-athletes can also check out a laptop computer to take with them to complete assignments or papers on the road. To learn more about the Travel Laptop Program, click on the link below:
