POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State football coach
Mike Kramer has announced his 2017 recruiting class. This year's class includes a group of eight offensive players and seven defensive players. Of the 15 players joining the program four will serve LDS missions prior to enrolling at Idaho State.Â
Bryon Leckington, David Rowe, Jake Ross and Connor Stanford are expected to serve right away and join the program at the conclusion of their two-year church service.
The Bengal coaching staff also added seven student-athletes from the state of Idaho.

High School: Named to All-State as an offensive and defensive lineman … all-conference honors as an offensive and defensive lineman … named the defensive MVP and set the school record for sacks.

Chase Downs, 6-2, 190, DE, Caldwell, Idaho, Middleton HS

High School: Earned all-league as a tight end and linebacker … two-year starter in football … led team to a state champion … was coached by Bill Brock … parents are David and Tami ... second-team all-state as a tight end ... two-time all-conference as a tight end and linebacker ... team offensive MVP ... led team to the state playoffs in 2014, 2015, 2016 ... played in the 2016 East West Shrine Game as a tight end ... three-year varsity letter winner in basketball ... 2016 team defensive MVP ... led team to the state playoffs in 2015 and 2016.
