Box Score FULLERTON, California –
Amanda Ellsworth scored her Big Sky Conference leading seventh goal of the season as Idaho State fell 4-1 to Cal State Fullerton Thursday night.
The senior forward collected a rebound off a
Maria Sanchez shot in the 78th minute for the Bengals only goal of the game. Ellsworth has now scored in four of the team's six games while Sanchez has recorded a point in five of the six.
The home team struck first in the 10th minute, as a corner kicker from Colleen Ortega found the back of the net.  Three minutes later they added to their lead when Christin Burkenroad slid home a pass across the six yard box to make it 2-0 at the half.
Idaho State came out of the locker room strong threatening to come from behind for the second consecutive game. The Titans stemmed the pressure and then tallied two quick goals, both by Rebecca Wilson, in the 53rd and 57th minute to make it 4-0. ISU's goal later in the second half rounded out the scoring.
"I was so proud of them," Idaho State Head Coach
Allison Gibson said. "We never stopped fighting. For us it's about character.  If we are going to come out being strong and working hard for each other and never giving up then I am satisfied."
The Bengals conclude their non-conference schedule with one more game in California, taking on No. 20 San Diego State on Sunday afternoon.
