FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Jesse Sorensen led the Bengals at the Big Sky Championships hosted by Northern Arizona with his win in the men's 400m dash. Sorensen took the title with a time of 47.01.
Sorensen also earned All-Conference acolades in the men's 200m with his second-place time of 20.87 and joined teammates
Corbin Latimore,
Kyle Searle and
Taigan Neibaur in finishing second in the 4X100m (41.02) and
Logan Henderson, Neibaur and Latimore in second for the 4X400m (3:12.53).
"This means a lot because of the work my teammates and I have put in and it has paid off," said Sorensen. "We have really come together and coach has pushed us so it feels great."
Henderson was also named All-Conference for the men's 400m hurdles with a second-place time of 52.16. Earlier in the meet, he finished third in the decathlon.
On the women's side,
Rebecca Clark led the charge with a third-place finish in the pole vault. She cleared 12-00.00 to be named All-Conference in that event.
Northern Arizona won the team championship on both the men and women side. The Bengal men finished sixth with 68 points and the women finished 11th with 21.5 points.
