POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State Track and Field Head Coach
Dave Nielsen has announced the signings of Mishayla Waltari, Jonalynn Horn, Madison Ward, Jesse Allen and Nathan Heck to National Letter of Intents.
"Kudos to my staff for attracting this great group of athletes," Nielsen said. "This is the best start we've had in recruiting. Our next signing period begins in April where we expect to fill 20-25 more spots, hopefully with these kind of high caliber athletes."
Waltari is an all-state cross country runner from Cody, Wyo. She placed second and third in the 400 and 800 at state track last year.
Horn is a multiple time all-state cross country runner from Oak Harbor, Wash. She has a personal record time of 11:20 on the track in the 3200.
Ward, a native from Couer d'Alene, Idaho, is an Idaho State champion in the 100 and 200. Her personal bests are 12:16 in the 100 meter and 24:81 in the 200 meter.
Allen is a multiple time all-state cross country runner and a medalist in track. He is from Casper, Wyo. and has a personal record time of 1:56 in the 800 meter.
Heck, a native from Fallon, Nev., will be competing in the pole vault. His season best mark of 15' 0" tied him for the best mark in the state in 2014.
