Grace Kenyon

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's basketball program has announced the signing Jasmine Lemon , a guard from Cochise College and Grace Kenyon from Bainbridge High School. Kenyon is from Bainbridge Island, Wash., while Lemon is from Seattle, Wash.

Lemon, 5-5 guard who will be a junior for the Bengals, prepped at John F. Kennedy High School and earned first-team all-conference and second-team all-state accolades while being named to the honor roll all four years of high school. She graduated with a 3.8 GPA.

Lemon played at Seattle University during the 2011-12 season before transferring to Cochise for the just completed 2012-13 season.

“Jasmine is a quick point guard with Division I experience,” Idaho State coach Seton Sobolewski said. “Her freshman year she played at Seattle University. Jasmine has great composure as a point guard and knows how to run a team. She is a good player and a motivated student. We are excited that Jasmine is going to be a Bengal.”

Kenyon is a 6-0 forward who will be a freshman for ISU this upcoming season. Kenyon was a multi-sport athlete who ran cross country in 2009, played soccer in 2010 and lettered in basketball from 2009-13.

She earned first-team All-Metro and Kitsap County Super Six in 2013  and was named third-team All-Metro in 2011 and 2012. Kenyon was selected to play in the Washington vs. Idaho all-state game and the Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association Senior All-State game. As a senior Kenyon averaged 18.8 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.8 steals. She scored over 1,100 points in her high school  career and ranked second overall in rebounds and double-doubles.

“Grace is a hard working athletic forward who can score around the basket or step out and hit the three,” Sobolewski said. “She is also an exceptional student. We look forward to having her on campus soon.”
