Men’s Basketball Signs Jeffrey Solarin

Solarin is a 6-4 guard and he will be a junior for the Bengals.

Bill Evans has added Jeffrey Solarin to his recruiting class for next year.

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball program has added to its recruiting class for the upcoming season by signing Jeffrey Solarin, a 6-4 guard from Northwest College in Powell, Wyo.

Solarin played two years at Northwest, earned All-American honors as a sophomore this past season and was first-team All-Region 9. As a freshman he also earned all-region while scoring 15.1 points and averaging 8.9 rebounds a game.

In his sophomore season he scored 16.6 points a game and averaging 8.9 rebounds overall and 10.7 rebounds in conference.  He scored in double figures in all but three games while leading his team to a 22-11 record.

Solarin shot .615 percent from the field this year and .634 percent as a freshman. He prepped at Rangeview High School in Colorado where he led the state in rebounding as a senior.

“We are excited to have Jeff in our program,” Idaho State coach Bill Evans said. “He is really productive rebounding and scoring the basketball. He is a tremendous kid and we are looking forward to having him in our program.”
