ISU Football Signs Four Linebackers Early

All four will be on campus when classes start on January 14.

Mike Kramer has signed four junior college linebackers.
POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State football coach Mike Kramer has announced the signings of four junior college linebackers who will join the Bengal football program when school starts on January 14. Joining the Bengals from Rochester Community and Technical College is Robby Mackesey and Nick Albano. P.J. Gremaud (Ventura College) and Erik Nelson (Saddleback College) will also join the Bengals.

“All four of these linebackers are big, physical and have the ability to make plays,” Idaho State coach Mike Kramer said. “They are great students in the classroom and we look forward to them joining our program when classes begin on January 14.”

Tesoro High School

Saddleback College: (2012) 55 tackles, 17 TFL, 4.5 sacks, two interceptions, four pass break ups, two quarterback hurries … fourth on the team in tackles (2011) Led the team in sacks (6) and forced fumbles (3) … posted 41 tackles and one interception in 11 games for the Gauchos in 2011.

Tesoro High School: Lettered in football before graduating in 2010. While at THS, Nelson was a second-team all-South Coast League selection as a senior. His brother, Nick, played quarterback at Saddleback before transferring to the University of Colorado.

Had 54 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, eight sacks, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery … earned first-team all-region as a defensive end and first-team all-conference … was a team-captain. (2011) 30 tackles, 10 TFL and one sack … earned second-team all-conference.

Monona High School: first-team all-conference as an offensive guard, team captain and winner of the Silver Eagle Citizenship Award … as a junior was first-team all-conference as a defensive lineman and team captain.

Nick Albano, LB, 6-1, Randolph, Minn., Rochester Community and Technical College
Rochester Community and Technical College: (2012) 109 tackles, 9.9 tackles a game, two INT, 10 sacks, two interceptions. (2011) Had 71 tackles, five tackles for loss and one sack.

PJ  Gremaud  LB  6'2  240  Jr. St. Bonaventure (Humboldt St.) / Ventura, CA
Ventura College: (2012) Led the team in tackles with 80 … had 6.5 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, two interceptions and averaged 8.9 tackles per game … 8.9 tackles per game ranked third in the league … team finished 6-0 in conference play and 10-1 overall … helped lead his team to the SCFA National Northern Conference championship … earned all-conference honors.
