BENGAL OVERVIEW
Idaho State cross country hosts new conference rival Southern Utah to open the 2012 season. Held at Centennial Course, the meet begins at 9 a.m. The Bengal women won both their meetings with Southern Utah last year while the men dropped both.
AT THE BIG SKY CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Idaho State women finished second at the Big Sky Cross Country Championships held at the Centennial Course last October. The Bengal women scored 50 points, closely following first-place Weber State's 40 points. The Idaho State men's team finished sixth with 134 points.

The Idaho State women return all but Big Sky runner-up
Bradi Hutchison to this year's roster.
Cydney Jacobsen and
Kylie Hutchison both placed in the top-10 at the Big Sky Championships. Jacobsen's eighth place time of 18:22.07 ranks 10th on the list of fastest 5K times on the Centennial Course and
Kylie Hutchison's ninth place time of 18:22.56 ranks 11th. Jacobsen also ranks seventh for fastest 4K time on the Centennial Course from a 2010 performance.
Kylie Hutchison ranks ninth for fastest 3K Centennial Course time with her time of 10:37.00 from last year's meet against Southern Utah.
Also returning for the Bengal women is
Chloe Palakovich. She finished 11th at the Big Sky Championships with a time of 18:26.33 which ranks 12th on the Centennial Course fastest 5K times. Her time of 16:07.00 from 2010 ranks 10th on the list of fastest 4K Centennial Course times. Last spring, Palakovich won the Big Sky Championships for the women's 800m with a time of 2:09.63 which ranks second on the Idaho State list of all-time best performances.
Audrey Urlacher and
Callie Kettner will also return from last year's team.
Freshman
Katie Nicholls from Meridian, Idaho will join the team this year from Centennial High School. Nicholls competed in cross country and track and field all four years and was the Idaho High School State Champion in the 800m and 4X800m relay.
BENGAL MEN TO WATCH
Idaho State's top men's returner is senior
Bryce Jenkins from Wahiawa, Hawaii. Jenkins finished 15th at the Big Sky Championships with a time of 25:55.45 in the men's 8K. Jenkins was named All-Conference for the 3000m steeplechase during the outdoor track and field season with his career best time of 9:12.99. His time earned him a bid to the NCAA West Regionals.
KC Hunsicker and Nicasio Westlund both scored for the Bengals at the Big Sky Championships with times of 27:12.26 and 27:48.53 in the men's 8K. They will return for their sophomore seasons this year.
