Nate Gross has been named Bengal Athlete of the Week for his performance against Utah State last Wednesday. Gross and his teammate senior
Dan Buckingham defeated USU's Andrew Whiting and Lenny Whiting 8-6 at the No. 2 doubles and Gross went on to win the No. 3 singles against L. Whiting, 6-1, 6-1.
Gross and Buckingham improved their doubles record to a team-leading 11-8 for the 2012 season. Gross improved to 9-10 in singles action.
The win against the Aggies marked the first Idaho State sweep of Utah State since 2006. With the win, ISU improved to 8-11 overall on the season, the most wins in a single season since the 2005-06 season. It was also the first away win of the season for Idaho State.
This is the second Bengal Athlete of the Week award for Gross this season. He was honored with the award after his performances at the Las Vegas tournament. Gross will return for his senior season next year with fellow experienced returners
