2012 Spring Roster

POCATELLO, Idaho-
The Idaho State football team opened spring football on Wednesday morning to much excitement and anticipation. This spring the Bengal coaching staff goes into spring practice with 65 players on the roster and 10 offensive starters back from the fall.

More importantly, the Bengal coaching staff is going into the spring with a team that is cohesive on and off the field.

“The one thing we have this year that we didn't have last year is that we have more togetherness and stable leadership,” Idaho State coach Mike Kramer said.  “There is much more stability throughout the team.”

The only change to the coaching staff in the off season is Ryan Smaha is now coaching running backs and Rudy Griffin will be coaching the inside and outside linebackers.
Idaho State will practice on Thursday and Friday at 6:30 a.m. before taking the next week off for spring break. Practice resumes April 3-6 with the first scrimmage taking place on the 6th at 5 p.m. The final spring practices will be April 17-19 and 24-28. The second scrimmage is April 19 at 5 p.m. and the Dave Kragthorpe Classic is April 28 at 1 p.m. Outside the three scrimmages all spring practices will start at 6:30 a.m.

“Early morning is where we belong,” Kramer said. “These first three days we want nice good hard establishment type of practices where we will put everything in.”

The Bengals will be without the services of Leki Fuapau, James Bergren, Kimo Makaula, Brennan Ghassemieh, Cody Sorenson, Luke Austin and Josh Cutler due to injury.
