POCATELLO, Idaho- This past weekend, the Idaho State football team held their end of the year banquet where they handed out team awards and honored the 2012 senior class.
Each team award is named after a former Bengal football legend.
Mark Clampitt and
Rodrick Rumble received the Mike Machurek Outstanding Offensive Player Award.
Clampitt started every game on the offensive line for the last two years while Rumble is a two-year first-team all-conference member and leaves Idaho State as the top receiver in program history as he set career records in receptions (223) and yards (2,863). This year he caught 74 passes for 1,006 yards and six touchdowns.
Donovan Henley was awarded the Jared Allen Outstanding Defensive Player and CJ Reyes received the Case DeBruijn Outstanding Special Teams Player Award.
Henley finished the 2012 season with 59 tackles and three interceptions while earning honorable mention all-conference accolades. For his career he had seven interceptions. Reyes served as the backup quarterback and starting punter where he averaged 40.1 yards a punt on 59 punts.
Kevin Yost garnered the Dave Kragthorpe Offensive Coaches Award and
Trevor Spence received the Marvin Lewis Defensive Coaches Award.
Yost finished the 2012 season completing a Big Sky record 349 passes on 553 attempts for 3,690 yards and 24 touchdowns and earned honorable mention all-conference honors. Spence led the team in tackles with 90 and had three sacks and one interception while earning honorable mention all-Big Sky honors.
Senior
Josh Hill, who recently earned third-team AP All-American honors, was given the Marcus Jakson Most Inspiration Award. Hill caught 70 passes for 630 yards and five touchdowns in his final season as a Bengal.
