POCATELLO, Idaho - Junior outside hitter and defensive specialist
Breanne Van Every led Idaho State to a sweep of its first home matches at Reed Gym defeating Weber State 3-1 and Utah Valley 3-0 to earn her first Bengal Athlete of the Week honors.
Idaho State improved to 2-1 in conference play with its strong win over Weber State for ISU's first 2-1 start since the 2005 season. Van Every notched 16 kills, four digs, two block assists and one assist against the Wildcats for 17 points, the second most on the team.
In less than 24 hours she notched a match-high 15 kills from 35 attacks with one error for a .400 attack
percentage. ISU had six match points in the third set with Utah Valley before finishing the sweep; Van Every led the Bengals to the win with a team-high six kills in the third set. She recorded her third double-double of her career by adding 11 digs to her performance. Van Every also had two block assists and one assist.
She averaged 4.43 kills per set with a .292 attack percentage and 2.14 digs per set over the weekend.
