Previous Bengal Athlete of the Week Winners
POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State quarterback
Kevin Yost has been named the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week and the Bengal Athlete of the Week. The award is for his performance last Saturday vs. Northern Colorado where he became the third Bengal quarterback to throw for over 500 yards in a game.
He threw for 508 yards and four touchdowns in the 50-20 victory over Northern Colorado in the Big Sky Conference opener. Yost completed 47-of-68 passes with only one interception. The 47 completions tied a Big Sky single-game record.
Yost currently ranks No. 13 in the country in passing efficiency at 158.38 and he is first in the country in total offense at 405.67 yards a contest.
Yost shares the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week honor with Portland State's Cory McCaffrey, who rushed for 222 yards on 30 carries and four touchdowns in a 31-29 win over NAU.
On the season, the Bengal signal-caller has thrown for 1,183 yards, nine touchdowns to only two interceptions. He has completed 71.5 percent of his passes (103-144).
Idaho State is 2-1 and 1-0 in Big Sky Conference play. It is the first time since 2005 the Bengals have won two straight games and been above .500. That year ISU started the season 3-1.
Idaho State plays at Northern Arizona on Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. (MST). The game can be heard live on 930 KSEI with

Following Northern Arizona, Idaho State plays host to Portland State on Oct. 1 at 1:30 p.m. That game is Homecoming and it is also the 30-year reunion of the 1981 National Championship team.
