POCATELLO, Idaho- The Big Sky Conference released the 2011 preseason football polls and the media and coaches picked Eastern Washington to win the league with Montana State and Montana finishing second and third while Idaho State was picked to finish ninth.
Sacramento State was picked fourth in both polls. The Hornets finished the 2010 season 6-5, its first winning season since 2000.
Northern Arizona was picked fifth in the coaches poll and sixth in the media poll while Weber State was tabbed sixth in the coaches and fifth in the media poll.
Portland State, Northern Colorado and Idaho State round out the final three selections in each poll.
The Bengals begin practice for the upcoming 2011 season on August 4 and begin the season on Sept. 3 at Washington State. ISU plays its home opener on Sept. 10 against Western State College at 4 p.m. This is the first home game for coach
Mike Kramer and his staff and it will be the first ISU game on the new turf that is currently being installed.
