Deane Martin Quotes
“It was more of the same thing pretty much. We come out. We play through stretches for a while and then it just all goes kaput at some point. Offensively I told the team that I don't know if there is an offense we can scheme up to go out and make the shot for you. At some point you have to go out and make the play. We did pretty good defensively against them. We get them down to the shot clock at under 10 seconds I don't know how many times. They come off a ball screen and go make a play."
"We get the same thing on the other end except we fall down when we go and try to make a play. There is not an offense to scheme up that will correct that. We have guys to the rim and they can't finish it. Its frustrating offensively. At some points guys are going to have to step up and make plays at some point. The only thing we can do is get in the gym and go from there.”
On the Last Minute of the first half
"I remember the play at one end. I think Kenny took a quick shot. I can't remember how it happened. We had a chance to get a stop. We get it under 10 seconds on the shot clock and they go make a play. We told our guards you have to be tougher on the ball and stay with the guy. But in reality we defended it pretty well but they stepped up and made a shot and we go down and we can't do that. You are right we had a chance to go in at halftime down four and if we are a little more consistent we could have been tied or a head at halftime. We came out in the second half and it was a whole different deal.”
"When you get into the second half teams are going to get after you a little more. It is not quite as easy in the first half. That is when you have to set harder screens, make harder cuts and be more disciplined with your offense."
