POCATELLO, Idaho- The schedule is set for the 2011 Idaho State football season. The Bengals play five home games at Holt Arena and six games on the road. The Bengals open the season playing four of their first six games at Holt Arena.
After a road game on September 3 at Washington State, the home schedule starts Sept. 10 against Western States, a Division II school that plays in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Idaho State leads the overall series with Western State, 18-7-1, but the Sept. 10 will be the first meeting between the two schools since 1962.
The following week, ISU opens Big Sky play against Northern Colorado at Holt Arena.
“We are looking forward to the excitement of the 2011 football season and opening at home against Western State on September 10,” Director of Athletics Jeff Tingey said. “We have a schedule that will allow our fans an opportunity to see us play on the road with games in close proximity at BYU, Weber State and Montana State.”
Following the Northern Colorado game, ISU travels to Northern Arizona on September 24. Idaho State then returns home for an Oct. 1 game vs. Portland State and an Oct. 8 contest vs. Montana.
The Bengals then close out the season playing four of their last five games on the road beginning Oct. 15 at Weber State.
Idaho State plays its final nonconference game when it makes the three hour drive down I-15 for a contest at BYU in Lavell Edwards Stadium. 2011 is BYU's first year competing as an Independent in football. It will be the fourth meeting between the two schools but the first since 1951.
After BYU, the Bengals play at 2010 Co-Big Sky champion Montana State. ISU then has it's bye week on Nov. 5 before playing at Sacramento State on Nov. 12. The Bengals close out the season on Nov. 19 vs. Eastern Washington, a team that finished the regular season ranked No. 1 in the country and shared the Big Sky championship with Montana State.

Idaho State Bengal fans mean a lot to us and our players get excited playing in front of our fans at home and on the road.”
2011 Football season tickets are on sale at the ISU Ticket Office at Holt Arena now. Tickets are $70 and they can be purchased by logging onto isubengals.com, by calling 208-282-FANS, or going in person to the ISU Ticket Office at Holt Arena. Season tickets can also be purchased at Vickers Western Stores. Ticket office hours at Idaho State is Monday through Friday, 8-4:30 p.m.
