POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State Strength and Conditioning Department will conduct the inaugural To Weber and Back Fundraiser Oct. 15-16, 2010. The fundraiser will utilize ISU student-athletes to raise money for the ISU Strength and Conditioning Department, the ISU sport team that raises the most money and the Bannock Country Humane Society.
Beginning at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15 Athletic Director Jeff Tingey as well as various Idaho State head coaches will kick off the 24-hour long event by either walking, running or riding a stationary bike for one mile. Following them will be the football and volleyball teams who will be facing Weber State at home Saturday, Oct. 16. The rest of the ISU student-athletes will follow in round-the-clock fashion as they strive to reach a goal of 262 miles by 1 p.m. Saturday, signifying a round trip from Pocatello to Weber, Utah and back.
Student-athletes will be asked to have at least five sponsors donate $10 on their behalf. The funds raised will help purchase equipment and to help raise funds for each individual team. The sport team that raises the most money will inherit 25 percent of the total income from the fundraiser. Each team will also have the opportunity to raise money for their team by selling team-related merchandise.. Teams will also be selling "White out Weber" T-shirts with 50 percent of all sales going directly to the team selling the shirts.
